Short Series privacy policy

Last updated: 24 October 2026 No ads No tracking

Applies to the Short Series app for Android (short_stories.com on Google Play) and the Series Admin website used by its admins.

Short Series lets you record or add videos of up to 1 minute and keep them in series. The app is run by one owner, who keeps all of its data in their own Google account. Questions: queries@snapsstudio.co.in.

What we collect

  • Your name and the username you choose when you make an account.
  • Your password, stored only in scrambled (salted and hashed) form, never as you typed it.
  • Your videos that you add to a series, with their details: series name, file name, size, length and the date they were uploaded.
  • Login records: when you made the account and last logged in, and a code that keeps you logged in on your phone (stored in scrambled form).
  • Messages you send to other people in the app, message requests, and any blocks or reports you make.

We do not collect your contacts, location, phone number, email address, advertising ID or any other personal data. There are no ads and no analytics or tracking tools in the app.

Why

Only to run the app: to log you in, to save your series, to let you and the app's admins watch them, and to let other people find and watch the series you make public. We do not sell your data or share it with anyone for advertising.

Where it is stored

  • Your account details and the list of your series and episodes are kept in a Google Sheet in the app owner's Google account.
  • Your videos are uploaded to a "Short Series" folder in the app owner's Google Drive.
  • On your phone, the app saves your videos in the Movies > Short Series folder, so they are also in your gallery. When you log out, the app moves them to the phone's trash and erases the rest of its data on the phone. Your account and your videos in Google Drive are not touched.

Google stores the Sheet and the Drive files for the owner (see Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy). Everything sent between the app and Google is encrypted (HTTPS).

Who can see it

You, the app's owner, and the admins they choose. Admins can see the names and usernames of all accounts and watch every uploaded video.

Other people with a Short Series account can find you by your name or username in search and suggestions, and see the month you joined. A series is private (only you and the admins) unless you make it public. Anyone with a Short Series account can find and watch a public series. Its videos are then shared through Google Drive links that only the app hands out; making the series private again takes the links away. Suggestions are made from the names of series and from who talks to whom, without showing anyone your messages.

A message can be read by you and the person you wrote to. Messages are kept in the owner's Google Sheet, so the owner can read them too, for example to check a report. Other people can only write to you after you accept their request, and you can block or report anyone, from a conversation, their profile or their web series. People you block no longer see you or your series.

Phone permissions

The app uses the internet to upload, and starts by itself after the phone restarts only to finish waiting uploads. It does not read your gallery: you choose each video in Android's own picker, and recording uses your phone's camera app.

How long we keep it

Your data is kept until you delete your account (see "Delete your Short Series account" below).

Children

Short Series is meant for people aged 18 and over. It is not meant for children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version is posted on this page with a new date.

Delete your Short Series account

You can delete your Short Series account and its videos at any time.

In the app

  1. Open Short Series and log in.
  2. Tap Account at the top of the home screen.
  3. Tap Delete my account, read the warning, then type your password.

Without the app, or if you forgot your password

Email queries@snapsstudio.co.in with your username and ask for your account to be deleted.

What is deleted

  • Your name and password are wiped at once, and you are logged out on every phone.
  • The messages you sent are wiped, and your conversations are closed.
  • All your series and episodes are moved to the app owner's Google Drive trash, and Google deletes them for good after 30 days.

What is kept

  • Your username, marked as deleted, with the names and dates of your episodes, so nobody else can take over the username.
  • Videos saved on your own phone (Movies > Short Series). Delete them in your gallery app if you want them gone too.
